What is Glatisant?

Glatisant is a GM-less, asymmetrical TTRPG for two players using the Carta system. Discover a world of high adventure as you cross a tableau of playing cards, encountering people and places from Arthurian myth with each card you turn over. The game can be played in 45 minutes or a few hours, depending on the depth of your journaling.

One player takes on the role of the Knight Errant, seeking the object of their quest, the Beast and turning over new cards in the tableau as they search. The other player controls the Questing Beast, and secretly chooses the win condition; either a place on the tableau the two players must meet, or a combination of resources that the Knight must have or not have when they meet. The Beast must guide the Knight player, leaving clues and directing the Knight to be in the correct condition when they meet.

Each card flipped also comes with prompts for each player to respond to, and to flesh out the story of this lifelong hunt.

Players: 1-2
Ages: 13+
Time: 45–60 minutes
Required to play: Book, a deck of cards, pencil, journal, and some tokens.

Features:

  • Exploration-focused gameplay
  • A full deck of adventure, each card a scene
  • 40 pages with full-color illustrations throughout
  • Crunchy resource management mechanics
  • Simple, easy-to-learn rules
  • Thoughtful conversations on love and heroism
  • Solo mode for one-player adventures

The System

The Carta system uses a spread of playing cards to create a point-crawl adventure. As players move to a new card, they find a story prompt matching the card’s suit and rank in the rulebook. Based on solo journaling game with one resource, Glatisant adds a second player, a hidden objective, and multiple resources to expand the system’s potential and themes.

Print and Play

We are huge fans of bookmaking and of the DIY print and play culture, so we've included a printer friendly file that is ready to be folded into a one fold booklet as a way of getting a physical book to those who purchase the digital PDF.

The print and play files also include instructions for how to print and fold your book. There are also some print and play tokens of the Knight and Beast to aid your game play.

hi there, just checking if any community copies are available please

We don't have a formal plan for when we add community copies as of now. We had several made possible by generous people during our kickstarter.
